[quote user="jessie.dazzle"] I have not heard any other systems using Vitavox S2 drivers, but I know it is possible to get the S2 to generate on-axis unpleasentries. In the case of the system I am building, one can happily sit straight in the firing ...

We have two models with different upper bass horns, one is indeed a 140hz horn (77 cm diameter) and the original, bigger horn at 110 hz (92 cm diameter) Both tactrix both made from the same materials (MDF) and finished in the same automotive finish.T...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]The brickish finish does not make me cringe, in fact I do like the idea. I do not feel that it would be some kind of non-truths. There is no truths or non-truths in it. The only a few first feet of the horn will be visi...

You need to decide what length of the horn you can afford. When I mean “afford” I ment the position of the horn in context of the rest of your system. You know the lowest cut off - 40Hz. So, the most suitable for you length and the mouth size will gi...

I stopped by today in a local warehouse and picketed a 4x 16” fiber pipes and 2 two 20”. I absolutely love the effect. As soon I brought the tubes to the room and took the cover off in the hall room turned to be much quieter at HF. I did not expect t...

Again, none of the pneumatic methods would work as any pneumatic leak air with time and it will be no access to it after the horns are installed and the walls are finished. Not mention that we have no high to play wit. We will be doing the follo...

[quote user="RF at Ona"] Congratulations on the construction and installation of your horns. May your pleasure at the results reward your effort and expense. I find their installed appearance even more geometrically striking than anticipated and I su...

My wife is a musician. She plays the trumpet in a small symphony orchestra,in a traditional brass band, and numerous small gigs around town. She has a lovely CD out and drove the first "tone-deaf" engineer insane while making it. Ultimately she was u...

Speaking about the interesting surface finish. I have seen a
new stimulating idea that I call the Scratched Horn. I do not know how much
practical effect if has but it shall not be bad. Let pretend that it is not a conical
horn with even sides but...

Hi Romy and thanks a lot for the always interesting topics and discussions going on... I'm quite new to DPoLS and consider the approach of "obtaining sound in a room" more than "speakers positioning" - too often to WAF fullfillment and aesthetics, th...

[quote user="jessie.dazzle"]I've been listening for about one week now with the filters set so the hand off from lower-mid to upper-mid happens higher up (upper-mid S2 is high-passed at 4800Hz instead of 3200Hz), meaning the small 400Hz horn is doing...

op.9,
to put your comment I perspective it is necessary to know what surface you had on your Lecleach horns before. If you search the site (use world textured or structured) then you would know that I am a vocal opponent of smooth surfaces on horns....
